DeepSeek Chat Export Guide

Overview

Chat2File-DeepSeek is a DeepSeek chat export tool for https://chat.deepseek.com/. It exports single responses or full conversations to Word, PDF, Markdown, HTML, Jupyter Notebook, and more, with a built-in Notebook for content you actually want to keep.

What you can do with it

01

Save high-value responses

Keep conclusions, code snippets, or tables as ready-to-use deliverables.

02

Organize a full conversation

Export a DeepSeek conversation as Markdown, Word, PDF, or a Notebook for archiving.

03

Build up a Notebook

Save important content into Notebook to keep editing, archiving, and reusing it later.

04

Unify export preferences

Set default formats, Word styles, and PDF headers/footers so exports match your workflow.

Quick Start

Pick one or two cards that match your scenario and try them first, then expand to the rest.

1

Export a single response

  1. Wait for the target response to finish generating.
  2. Find the export button next to that response.
  3. For PDF, confirm pagination and layout in the preview page before downloading.
2

Batch-export a conversation

  1. Open “Batch Export” from the bottom-right Hub.
  2. Select the questions and answers you want to include.
  3. Choose Markdown, Word, PDF, Jupyter Notebook, HTML, or JSON.
  4. When the format supports it, pick a template and decide on reasoning content.
3

Save into Notebook

  1. Click “Add to Notebook” on a response worth keeping.
  2. Choose a folder and confirm the title.
  3. Open Notebook to keep editing, or export the full Notebook data.
4

Tune export preferences

  1. Open Settings from the Hub “More” menu.
  2. Configure default formats, Word styles, and PDF headers/footers.
  3. Future exports will reuse these preferences automatically.

Core Features

Each card shows the best fit and supported formats so you can quickly decide when to use it.

Save a single response

Best for saving conclusions, code snippets, tables, or formulas you want to reuse directly. Each export is one self-contained answer.

Best forMaterial library, meeting notes, and document snippet delivery.
Supported formats
txtmddocxpdfxlspnghtmljsonipynbepub
  • PDF does not download directly: the extension opens a preview page first, and you confirm before downloading.
  • Some formats (xls, epub) only appear when the response contains a table or specific structures.

Batch export a conversation

Best for compiling a full discussion or learning notes into one archivable document.

Best forProject discussion records, study notes, and technical write-ups.
Entry“Batch Export” in the bottom-right Hub.
Supported formats
mddocxpdfipynbhtmljson
  • Use Select All, only Questions, or only AI Answers, and decide whether to include reasoning.
  • Markdown, Word, PDF, and Jupyter Notebook support templates when the selection qualifies.

Notebook for long-term content

Notebook is a built-in local library where you keep important responses to keep editing, exporting, and reusing.

Best forRefining conclusions, building a knowledge base, organizing across multiple chats.
Entry“Notebook” in the Hub, or “Add to Notebook” next to a response.
Supported formats
docxpdfmd
  • Title changes and body blur trigger auto-save, no manual save needed.
  • Create / rename / delete folders, move notes, and import / export the entire Notebook dataset.
Note

Notebook data lives in your current browser — closer to local scratchpad than to a synced workspace. Use “Import / Export full data” to move between devices.

FAQ

Q01

Why can’t I see the export buttons?

  • The current page is not https://chat.deepseek.com/
  • The response has not finished generating yet
  • The page has just loaded and the extension is still injecting
  • The button was hidden in your settings
Q02

Why do some formats appear only sometimes?

Some single-response export formats are shown dynamically based on the content structure.

  • xls requires a table in the response
  • epub may be hidden when the response contains code blocks, formulas, or tables

Also, when too many formats are available, some of them move into the “More formats” menu.

Q03

Why doesn’t batch export support PNG, creative posters, or Excel?

Batch export currently supports only md / docx / pdf / ipynb / html / json. Image-style and table-style single export capabilities are not part of the current batch export flow.

Q04

Why doesn’t PDF export download immediately?

This is the expected flow in the current version. The extension opens the built-in PDF preview page first, and the final download happens from there.

Q05

Why can’t I see my Notebook content on another computer?

Notebook data is mainly stored in the current browser locally and does not sync across devices automatically. To migrate, export the Notebook data first and then import it on the other device.

Q06

Why can account refresh fail or become limited?

  • Network issues
  • An expired login state
  • The daily manual refresh limit has been reached

Manual account refresh is currently limited to 10 times per day.

Q07

Why can’t I find “include reasoning” or “append export time to filename” in settings?

These two options are not exposed as separate settings sections. They are configured in the export dialog and then persisted for later exports.
